DIT BIOGRAPHY
My High Definition experience began in 2000 as a DOP for two seasons of Yaletown Entertainment's award winning, HDTV series, ‘Weird Homes'. Shortly thereafter I gained an invaluable amount of experience as the ‘A' camera focus puller on ‘The Rhino Brothers', the first Canadian 24P HD feature for theatrical release. This, in combination with 6 dedicated years of post-production experience, has naturally led to my current job description as High Definition Digital Imaging Technician and on-set colourist.

I have found that the perspective of the on-line editor / colourist allows for a unique understanding of the HD acquisition process. On many projects I have been able to combine my knowledge of color timing and grading with my skills a cameraman in order to better realize the D.P.'s desired look of the HD material on set. My DIT experience includes a wide range of network programs including John Woo's  "Lost in Space" , The Dead Zone, Dead Like Me, Stargate, The Muppet's 'Wizard of Oz' and the USA Network series 'The 4400'

In Fall 2004 I began working with C.S.C. Director of Photography Tony Westman. Our first project together was the MGM series "Dead Like Me" It was here that Tony and I began development of the Magic Lantern HD Framestore which we now utilize on a daily basis. The Framestore system has revolutionized the way we work with HD and allows us a greater creative freedom both on set and in post by freeing up valuable time in transfer. As many colourists know, a framestore is the critical colour matching tool used to establish and maintain the D.O.P.'s vision and look throughout colour timing. Our goal is to create great looking dailies and raise the standard by which HD production quality is judged.
